The only way is Hillsborough…not Essex: Monday 19th March 2012

Shock horror, it’s an early email…don’t panic, its just that I’m on the road for the next few days…queue comments of actually having to do some work for a change, la la la la la la la.

No great rant this week, just pure administration. Easter is heading our way and with it the usual potential disruption to the programme: the importance of this is heightened by the second world series being so evenly balanced at a crucial stage, 9-9, we either have only 2 weeks left in this series or at the most 3 with a winner takes all final day play off…I’m telling you, if we keep building it up like this some TV company somewhere is going to notice us and the cameras will be there eventually…makes you wonder what it would be called…the only way is Hillsborough…my big fat football wedding? I can see the Bafta being polished already.

But back to the pressing questions: Easter.

Looking ahead, the dates of the games are as follows and I would be very grateful if you would kindly tell me whether or not you know for definite or have an inkling that you will or will not be playing on the dates. Appreciating we made some significant progress with the Carry On poll last week (only three of you let yourselves down…you know who you are), I am going to make this a multiple choice answer:

A – I expect to play on this date

B – I might not be able to play on this date

C – I definitely can’t play on this date

For example, whilst I have a couple of days off in Easter, I am not away on a Thursday so I would answer A to all the dates.

Obviously non of this constitutes a firm commitment to anything, however it might just help us avoid having to pay for court time we don’t use.

Thursday 29th March

Thursday 5th April – the day before Good Friday

Thursday 12th April

Thursday 19th April

Honestly, I don’t know why the admin side of things fills me with dread but it does.

Oh, and who is playing this week?
